Gov. Schweitzer orders wolve genocide

Due to the dwindling Elk population, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer has called for whole wolf packs in the Bitterroot Valley to be killed.

"In addition, Schweitzer told game wardens not to investigate or cite anyone in the northern tier of the state who kills or harasses a wolf attacking their livestock," reports Eve Byron for helenair.com. "In the southern half of the state, it’s legal for cattle, sheep and other stock owners to shoot wolves harassing livestock."

The Outdoor Pressroom titled their piece on this subject "Take this, Feds! Gov. Schweitzer orders wolves killed." This seems pretty pro-dead wolves to me. I think the governor's decision pretty much opens the door for poachers and that hasn't fared so well in the past.

I'd be much more in favor of the governor hoasting a Whiskey for Wapiti event, or maybe Drink for the Deer. Contact the governor about the alternatives.
