I believe they're actually calling it the Google Sherpa-Cam, which is still exciting.
Think about all the time you can waste in your office. Hiking your workday away one click at a time. And on those bitter winter days, you can vicariously trek from your computer.

"The next development for Google Street View will involve getting off the trike and moving onto mountain trails, which will require leg power alone. For this Google are developing the Sherpa-cam," from CheapTents Outdoor Gear Blog.
The blog goes onto to say that weather is a major concern on Everest. I wish they would stop being sissies about the weather and get this thing launched so I can start climbing Everest all ready.
It's unclear weather this photo is of a prototype or a theoretical version.
I'm thinking the diligent adventure racer can earn a leg up by scouting possible courses if they get shots of lots of trails, but I guess that's a distant possibility.
This project must be rather time consuming. Epiphany! Google: if you'd like to pay someone to hike please contact me. Thanks.

As if I didn't daydream about hiking enough, now I can actually visualize it. Oh man, I can see my productivity dwindling away already! :)
