All the cats moved west

The Eastern cougar, a subspecies of the mountain lion, was officially declared extent on March 3, 2011. Although, at first, this may sound like terrible news, it may not be such a big deal. See, it turns out there is a good chance these animals never existed.

While sightings have been reported in recent times, there hasn't be a confirmed sighting of the cat since 1930.

Just a couple weeks prior, a trailcam in Moses Coulee in central Washington caught eight cougars in a single photo. It was first thought to be a hoax but a biologist from the Fish and Wildlife Department confirmed it as an anomaly.

The East Coast sure looks dreary when I don't know a bar that you can find eight cougars hanging out at on any given night.
