Sarah Outen, the only women to solo row the Indian Ocean, takes off from London tomorrow. On her solo 20,000 mile trip, Outen will cover land by bicycle and sea by kayak and small boat.
Even though she hallucinated and capsized near Mauritius on her Indian Ocean row, she says the scariest part of this trip is the roads and the possibility of getting hit by a car. This may be particularly scary since her trip brings her through New York. I wonder if she's heard about their driving yet.
She thinks the trip will take her about two and a half years to complete. Before a 5,000 miles paddle across the Pacific Ocean, she'll paddle and cycle her way to Japan. Clearly she's hardcore, but I hope she's considered the current conditions and made the proper precautions.
Outen is an ambassador of iWend, and you can read more about her trek on wendmag.com.
